Native R36S Launcher

Run Minecraft: Bedrock Edition natively on the R36S using the mcpelauncher port — no emulator. The launcher loads your own Minecraft Bedrock APK (ARM32 or ARM64) and runs it directly on the handheld's hardware. Multiple versions can be installed side by side, there is a built-in on-screen keyboard, and local LAN multiplayer works out of the box.

Important

This launcher does NOT include Minecraft itself. You must provide your own Minecraft Bedrock Edition ARM32 and/or ARM64 APK (version 1.1.x or later). Not affiliated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft.

Requirements

Hardware Any RK3326-based console. Tested on the R36S handheld.
Game APK Minecraft Bedrock Edition APK (ARM32 and/or ARM64), version 1.1.x or later (you provide this yourself).
Firmware ArkOS, ArkOS4Clones, DarkOS (and forks) or ROCKNIX.
32-bit & 64-bit

Both armhf (32-bit) and aarch64 (64-bit) builds are included and auto-detected. ARM64 (arm64-v8a) APKs are fully supported and tested. If an APK contains both architectures, you can choose which one to extract.

Installation

Download the latest release and extract it into the ports folder on your SD card, so you get the mcpe_launcher folder and McpeLauncher.sh:
/roms/ports/

The release is also mirrored on Archive.org.

Copy your own Minecraft Bedrock APK(s) — ARM32 and/or ARM64 — into the Setup Apk folder. The APK's filename becomes the version name shown in the menu:
/roms/ports/mcpe_launcher/Setup Apk/

Launch McpeLauncher.sh from the Ports menu. In the menu select Setup Apk and pick the APK to configure — repeat for as many versions as you want, each one is set up independently without touching the others. If the APK contains both architectures, you can choose which one to extract.

Once configured, the version appears in the main list — pick it and play. Versions can be deleted directly from the main menu. Enjoy!

Controls

Gamepad Mapping

The launcher uses your firmware's standard gamepad-to-touch mapping, so the analog sticks, face buttons and shoulders drive movement, camera and the touch UI. Press SELECT to open or close the Minecraft-themed on-screen keyboard for typing usernames, chat and world names.

Known Issues

  • On 1.1.x versions, the on-screen keyboard has some issues.
  • Not every APK version has been tested yet — if one misbehaves, try a different Bedrock version (1.1.x+).

Multiplayer

  • Local LAN multiplayer works — play with others on the same network.
  • Servers that don't require a Microsoft login may work.
  • Xbox Live access is not available.

What's New

  • 1.3.1 — Keyboard shortcut: SELECT now opens and closes the on-screen keyboard.
  • 1.3.0 — Big update: ArkOS and ArkOS4Clones compatibility, full ARM64 APK support alongside ARM32 (choose which architecture to extract when an APK has both), Minecraft-themed on-screen keyboard, some multiplayer servers without login now work, versions can be deleted from the menu, and fixed the crash on some versions (like 1.17) when the internet connection is active.
  • 1.2.0 — ROCKNIX compatibility: added support for the latest ROCKNIX builds (tested on RK3326).
  • 1.1.0 — Menu update: the SetupMcpe script is now built into the launcher menu. APKs go into the Setup Apk folder and can be extracted and deleted directly from the menu.
  • 1.0.0 — Initial release.
