EDEN — NINTENDO SWITCH EMULATOR
Windows · Linux · macOS
◆

Eden is a free, open-source Nintendo Switch emulator focused on performance and stability. Our builds run on Windows, Linux (including ARM64 boards) and Apple Silicon Macs — with Vulkan rendering, gamepad support and per-game configuration.

NOT FOR THE R36S!

Eden is a PC-class emulator. It does not run on the R36S (RK3326) or similar low-power retro handhelds — there is no port and there will not be one. It is meant for Windows/Linux/macOS computers and PC handhelds such as Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Legion Go or Apple Silicon Macs.

LEGAL NOTE

Emulators are legal, but you must dump games, firmware and console keys (prod.keys) from YOUR OWN Nintendo Switch. We do not provide games, firmware or keys, and we do not support piracy.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

GPUGPU: Vulkan 1.3 capable graphics (GTX 900+/RX 400+/Intel Xe/Apple M1+). This is the single most important requirement.
CPUCPU: 4+ cores; anything from the last ~8 years works, faster single-core = faster games.
RAMRAM: 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended.
KEYSFrom your own Switch: prod.keys + firmware dump + your game dumps (XCI/NSP).

QUICK SETUP

I
Install / unpack: Windows: run the installer. Linux: chmod +x Eden-*.AppImage then double-click. macOS: unzip, right-click the app → "Open" (first launch only, unsigned app).
II
Keys: Copy prod.keys from your console into the folder Eden opens via File → Open Eden Folder → keys.
III
Firmware: Install your dumped firmware via Tools → Install Firmware.
IV
Games: Point Eden to your game folder (double-click the main list) and launch. Vulkan is the default renderer — leave it on.
V
Controller: Plug in any XInput/DualShock/Pro Controller and map it under Emulation → Configure → Controls.

PERFORMANCE TIPS

  • First minutes of a game are shader-compile heavy — stutter disappears as the shader cache builds.
  • On weak GPUs lower the resolution multiplier to 0.75x–1x in Graphics settings.
  • Linux ARM64 build uses NCE (native code execution) on ARM CPUs — dramatically faster than interpretation.
  • macOS runs through MoltenVK (Vulkan→Metal); most 2D/light 3D titles are full speed on M1.
